What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant position at Rheumatology Office?
We are seeking a full-time Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our team and provide excellent customer service to our patients. The ideal candidate will be able to handle a variety of tasks, such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, collecting payments, and answering phones. The successful candidate will be reliable, organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Medical billing experience is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Schedule new and follow-up appointments for patients.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate patient records and medical histories.
- Collect patient information, including insurance information, for billing purposes.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, and process referrals.
- Provide general information about the practice, services, and rheumatology treatments.
- Cross-train in Medical Assisting to help as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the physician.
Qualifications:
- Prior medical office experience and basic medical terminology preferred
- Bilingual: English & Spanish preferred
- EMR proficient - NextGen preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Team player and multitasker
- Medical Billing experience a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
