SUMMARY/PURPOSE OF JOB
Under the direction of the HR Director, the Human Resources Generalist/Recruiter is primarily responsible for managing the full life cycle recruitment process for Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana. This individual will serve as liaison to all departments in regard to recruiting and onboarding efforts. The incumbent assumes responsibility for assisting with the development of new job descriptions and annual review of existing job descriptions. Additionally, this position will be expected to conduct and assist with annual market compensation surveys. This incumbent will also serve as a representative of the HR Department on the Employer of Choice Committee.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensures appropriate recruitment for assigned open position vacancies. Places advertising and job posting notices as appropriate for open positions. Develops recruitment strategies with relevant managers/department personnel. Ensures appropriate candidate selection decisions by ensuring completion of all required pre-screens, interviews, and reference checks. Updates managers regarding issues with chosen candidates.
- Coordinates, schedules and attends appropriate recruitment events with approval from direct supervisor. Fosters positive relationship with local organizations and schools.
- Uses fiscally prudent decisions in determining advertising and recruitment spending in line with HR budgets.
- May conduct exit interviews and provides feedback to Director of Human Resources and/or the HR Management regarding exit information as pertinent.
- Reviews salary survey results to determine salary recommendations and financial impacts for new jobs or upgrades as appropriate. Handles employee communication and documentation of pay changes as appropriate. Uses salary survey and benchmarking data to suggest appropriate pay grade placement of new jobs.
- Subject Matter Expert for HR material related to HR software (Peoplesoft, Kronos and applicant tracking system).
- Employee is focused on providing customer satisfaction (including, but not limited to, patients, co-workers, visitors, vendors and physicians) as a primary goal/outcome of all interactions; places customers first in the performance of job duties and responds to needs in a timely manner as evidenced by the absence of legitimate customer complaints.
- Ensures that job descriptions are reviewed annually and are consistent with requirements of ADA, JCAHO, CARF and other regulatory agency guidelines. Collaborates with managers in this process and in the development of new job descriptions.
- Responsible for calculating staff turnover rates on a monthly basis for all professional positions; responding to compensation surveys and participates in ad hoc projects as assigned by their direct supervisor.
- Assists in the development and administration of house-wide bonus/incentive programs regarding recruitment.
- Responsible to communicate participants for New Employee Orientation to the rest of the HR Team.
- Participates in continuous quality improvement/program evaluation activities and observes measures to ensure that hospital, JCAHO, CARF, and other quality standards are met.
- Assists in providing coverage for the HR Office as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
PERIPHERAL JOB DUTIES
- Writes articles for in-house publication and composes correspondence as required.
- Represents Human Resources on hospital committees as assigned by direct supervisor.
- Represents Human Resources on external committees including Indiana Association of Health Care Recruiters, ISHHRA, and others as assigned by their direct supervisor.
- May be assigned to assist the with reports and data for various committee presentations.
QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to relate well with the public in the presentation of positive image. Requires working knowledge of guidelines of regulatory agencies, fair employment practices, non-discrimination legislation, and current licensing laws of professional practices at the hospital. This individual must appropriately adhere to deadlines and be able to function independently. Incumbent must also be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.).
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a Human Resources Office with experience in healthcare strongly preferred. Experience in applicant tracking systems is essential.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field and/or equivalent HR experience required. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is a bonus.
