The museum hosts 38 exciting airshows each year along with various special events, offering a unique and exciting experience for aviation enthusiasts and casual tourists.
Role Description
Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome seeks a strategic, values-driven Operations Manager to lead our operational and HR functions with an emphasis on integrity, efficiency, and organizational health. This new role is critical to implementing strategic initiatives, optimizing daily operations, and fostering a professional, collaborative work environment. This is a full-time on-site role. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing weekend museum operations in season, managing seasonal staff, supervising events, and ensuring a smooth visitor experience. The Operations Manager will be responsible for maintaining financial data and marketing as well as development of sponsors and donors.

Operational Leadership (70%):
- Partner with Director to manage HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and compliance.
- Direct daily operations of seasonal staff and volunteers to ensure smooth functionality.
- Monitor and guide operational planning and implementation of strategic initiatives in alignment ORA's seasonal operation as a tourist attraction and museum.
- Provide guidance and support to operational staff, creating a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Promote a positive and supportive workplace culture that centers on professionalism, collaboration, and effective communication.
- Handle employee relations with a solutions-oriented approach, fostering a respectful and mission-focused environment.
Financial Management (50%):
- Responsible for implementation of financial management in collaboration with Director.
- Identify grant and donor development opportunities, collaborating with the Director to integrate these into the foundation's operational success.
- Review statements and reports for compliance with ORA's policies.
Qualifications
- Experience in operations management, event coordination, and staff supervision
- Experience with donor acquisition, grants and financial oversight
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented and proactive mindset
- Previous experience in a museum or tourist attraction is a plus
Other
- This position has a hybrid model available off-season (Nov-April).
- Weekends are required June-October.
- Salary reduction 403b available.
- Salary $26 - $28 per hour commensurate with experience.
