As the Distribution Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products in and out of the facility. You will lead warehouse operations at the Rhino Foods Distribution Center (RFDC) and supervise team members across 3 shifts. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations at RFDC to ensure our operational and production goals are achieved. You will collaborate with other teams cross-functionally and ensure Rhino’s strategic goals and objectives are achieved.
What you'll accomplish:
Inventory Management:
- Oversee raw and finished goods inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and stock counts.
- Conduct daily audits and reconciliations of all inventory transactions, including shipping, receiving, production, and quality activities.
- Identify and remove unsellable or unusable inventory while working closely with the Quality Assurance team.
- Ensure proper inventory labeling, reporting, and adherence to procedures.
- Implement and monitor inventory control systems for efficiency and accuracy.
Fulfillment, Shipping, and Receiving:
- Lead and coordinate shipping and receiving of raw materials and finished products.
- Manage warehouse logistics, including space utilization and freight scheduling.
- Prioritize warehouse tasks based on urgency while maintaining accuracy in packaging and labeling.
- Ensure all leased equipment is properly maintained and operational.
Supervision:
- Supervise and support a team across three shifts, ensuring smooth operations in inventory control, kitting, and shipping/receiving.
- Assign schedules and tasks, set performance expectations, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Lead problem-solving efforts for escalated issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Work closely with the Operations Department to adjust staffing as needed based on production demands.
- Conduct and oversee training programs, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Investigate employee accidents and product incidents, documenting findings and implementing corrective measures.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, supporting professional growth and retention.
Leadership and Strategy:
- Manage departmental budget, including forecasting and cost control.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, safety standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Champion Rhino Foods’ core values and commitment to employee-focused practices, sustainability, and B Corp certification.
- Contribute to process improvements, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and streamline workflows.
Requirements
What you'll need to succeed:
- Associate's Degree preferred.
- 2 years experience supervising a team.
- 3 years experience working in a warehouse setting.
- Proficiency utilizing inventory control management and warehouse management software including the use of RF/bar-code devices for data entry.
- Ability to organize information; develop schedules, goals, and timetables; and ensure they are attained in a timely fashion. Ability to communicate effectively to clearly convey instructions, expectations, feedback and information to team members and cross-functionally.
Flexibility is essential in Rhino’s ability to respond to short-term demands and ensure smooth operations during busy times. You may be involved in voluntary overtime or temporary assignments that result in extended shifts, weekend shifts, work completed on a different shift, or at another Rhino location based on business needs.
