As our Logistics Coordinator, you'll be a key player in our distribution network, orchestrating the movement of inventory, managing relationships with carriers and third-party logistics (3PL) partners while ensuring our customers receive their orders on time, every time. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple facets of supply chain management while making a tangible impact on our business.
What you’ll accomplish:
Inventory Management and Order Fulfillment
- Oversee inventory levels across Rhino warehouses and 3PL sites, ensuring availability meets volume, turnover, and quality standards
- Manage finished goods inventory transfers, including scheduling and updating Transfer Orders in ERP systems
- Execute order allocations for customer shipments from 3PL sites
- Update shipping documents and maintain accurate records
Transportation and Freight Coordination
- Serve as the main contact for carriers, brokers, and 3PL locations
- Organize freight for transfers and customer shipments, including scheduling pickups
- Run weekly PO reports for inbound raw materials and arrange freight for Rhino-managed purchase orders
- Facilitate freight claims and assist in negotiating carrier schedules and rates
Vendor and Partner Relationship Management
- Act as the primary liaison between Rhino Foods and our logistics partners
- Manage and resolve issues related to 3PL and logistics operations
- Approve carrier, broker, and 3PL invoices for Finance
- Collaborate with Sales and Distribution teams to meet customer service priorities
Process Improvement and Analysis
- Identify and participate in logistics-related process improvements
- Conduct research on transportation and 3PL markets to stay informed of industry trends
- Maintain and update logistics procedures and policies
- Stay informed on factors affecting distribution capacity, such as inventory levels, QA testing, and shipping requirements
Cross-functional Collaboration and Adaptability
- Work closely with Sales, Distribution, and Finance teams to ensure smooth operations
- Communicate effectively about supply chain status, challenges, and solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need to succeed:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience in logistics or transportation
- Sharp attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proven ability to work in a cross-functional environment
- Proficiency with computers and ERP systems
- Basic math skills for inventory and cost calculations
