What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Safety Representative position at Rhino Safety Consulting Group?
This is a temporary 1099 subcontractor position and will be for work in Mercury, NV and North Las Vegas, NV and is tentatively scheduled to start mid to late March 2025. This is temporary position and will last only 2-3 months.
You are responsible for GL / PL / automotive coverage. You are responsible for all healthcare, disability coverages, taxes, and other responsibilities of a 1099 subcontractor and will be required to provide prior to starting work.
Role Description
The Site Safety Representative (SSR) is responsible for maintaining and promoting the safety culture. The position is located in Mercury, NV and is a contract role requiring on-site presence. This is a project on federal property and requires you to be a U.S. citizen, with proof of citizenship.
The representative will be responsible for conducting safety audits, identifying potential hazards, investigation of accidents / incidents and implementation of corrective actions. The Site Safety Representative will be working closely with the General Contractor's Project Manager, Superintendents, and the employing contractor to ensure the project site is meeting all safety regulations and policies.
You will be responsible for completing daily safety documents and maintaining site safety files. You will need to be comfortable and knowledgeable of Federal OSHA standards and EPA regulations. Any issues identified will be reported to the employing contractor.
Qualifications
The following are required, and you must possess at least 1 of the 5 qualifications to be eligible :
1. Degree in Occupational Safety.
2. Certified Safety Professional (CSP). Certification must be current.
3. Associate Safety Professional (ASP) with 1-3 years documented safety experience. Certification must be current.
4. Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) or Construction Safety and Health Technician (CHST) certification with 2-3 years of experience in field providing safety duties. Certification must be current.
5. 5-10 years documented full time safety experience (100% safety work).
- Able to complete a physical (review process of physicals can take up to greater than 30-days)
- Clean driving record and a dependable vehicle, proof of insurance required
- Additional site orientation training must be completed before allowed to begin working onsite, but cannot begin before the physical has been finalized.
- You will be required to stand long hours throughout the day.
- Current CPR / First Aid certification or greater
Work is weather contingent and there is not a hour guarantee. Wind, rain, and other elements may impact the work week.
