Rhoback is currently seeking a talented and motivated full-time Assistant Photographer to join our internal Media House in Charlottesville, Virginia. This is an exciting opportunity to grow as a professional photographer within a fast-growing activewear brand.
As a key member of Rhoback’s photography team, your primary responsibilities would be focused on studio photography, including product flats, creative product photography, on-figure studio photography, and retouching of photography assets. These images will support Rhoback’s digital and web presence as well as other projects as needed. The ideal candidate will also be experienced in digital asset management and help maintain consistent visual standards across all channels. Excellent time management skills and a flexible, open-minded attitude are critical to effectively manage changing priorities and shifting sample arrival dates.
This position will be located in-person at Rhoback’s Charlottesville, VA headquarters and will start as soon as possible. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities:
- Assist and support Rhoback’s Photographers in-studio and on-location
- Edit and retouch photos for projects supporting Rhoback’s ecommerce and digital platforms
- Ensure that all product images are true to color and sizing of product in-person
- Help develop and maintain visual standards for the brand
- Manage digital asset organization and ensure they are properly accessible via Photoshelter and internal server
- Work with web, email, and digital ads team to ensure that images meet layout and design requirements
- Participate in team meetings to provide input and feedback on photography projects
- Responsible for proactive awareness of all product launch deadlines and delivery expectations
- Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices
- Continuously improve and maintain a Photo Studio
- Troubleshoot technical issues with equipment and software
- Manage and prioritize a high volume of images on a seasonal basis
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a team environment
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in studio photography, retouching, or a similar role — a great opportunity for someone early in their career and eager to grow
- Desire to grow as a professional photographer
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop
- Working knowledge of color correction and color management
- Demonstrated experience with product and model photography lighting set ups
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of file formats and image resolution
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements
- Must be a team player with a no-task-too-small attitude
