Paralegal
Full-Time (40 hours per week)
FLSA CLASSIFICATION Non-Exempt, Hourly

The Paralegal position is an in-office position, eight hours per day, with work hours Monday-Friday. The base pay range is reflected in this posting, however, this position has the opportunity to earn additional end of year compensation based on the current compensation system.
JOB SUMMARY
Support mediation and litigation efforts by completing confidential, dependable, client-focused case support assignments for assigned case files which may include attending occasional court attendance for attorney support.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Arrange mediation or expert witnesses for assigned cases
- Contribute to trial preparation in litigation practices such as compiling and organizing exhibits
- Run trial software for exhibits as needed
- Provide behind-the-scenes technical and administrative support in the courtroom at hearings and trials, or in arbitration and mediation proceedings
- Draft legal documents and pleadings, including deposition notices, subpoenas, motions, certifications, contracts, briefs, and complaints
- Investigate the facts of a case by interviewing clients and witnesses and performing legal research into case law and precedents
- Handle discovery—the exchange of certain information between opposing parties to a lawsuit
- Manage and update case files by hard copy or in the case management database
- Filing documents with federal and state courts
- Accurately record time for billing purposes
EDUCATION
· High School Diploma or GED is required; at least 60 college credit hours, military training or technical school studies in a relevant area preferred
· Candidates with a Paralegal, Administrative Support, Project Management or similar certification are highly desired

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of our employees and clients
· Relevant legal, research or project management experience
· Professional approach to assignments with the ability to adjust work priorities, when necessary
· Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word; experience using Juris and Perfect Law databases is a definite plus as is other legal software.
· Working knowledge of legal procedures and legal terminology
· Familiarity with local, state and federal filing rules
NALA or other paralegal certification is desired
· Fluent in English with spelling, punctuation and grammar proficiency
