Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conduct legal research to assist attorneys in case preparation.
• Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, motions, and briefs.
• Maintain organized files and databases for legal records and correspondence.
• Coordinate with clients, attorneys, and court personnel to manage case files.
• Prepare and submit legal forms and documents to courts and opposing counsel.
• Track case deadlines and ensure timely filings and submissions.
• Serve as a point of contact for clients, answering questions and providing updates as needed.
• Assist attorneys with client meetings, including preparing agendas and organizing documents as needed.
• Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing witness lists, and coordinating logistics as needed.
• File documents with the court and arrange for delivery of legal correspondence and filings.
• Maintain confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited institution (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in legal studies or a related field (preferred).
• 2 years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department.
• Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and legal research tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Familiarity with legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable attendance.
• Experience with Clio Legal Technology platform desired.
