Job Responsibilities
- Ensures that the athletic program is conducted within the rules of the Florida High School Athletic Association.
- Oversees all aspects of the athletic program.
- Works in conjunction with the Assistant Athletic Director.
- Oversees coaches assigned to all interscholastic sports.
- Assists the Administration in interviewing and hiring coaching staff and is responsible for screening and supervising hired staff.
- Oversees and schedules travel to away athletic contests.
- Authorizes and implements an athletic budget.
- Secures officials for home athletic games and contests and arranges for their changing facility.
- Confirms that student athletic paperwork is up-to-date.
- Oversees and supervises at home athletic events.
- Works with the Advancement department in support of athletics.
- Represents the Athletic Department in local community.
- Creates and oversees game contracts with opposing schools.
- Ensures that athletic facilities are maintained properly and setup for contests.
- Schedules and coordinates the athletic training program.
- Oversees all monies collected in relation to athletic contests.
- Works with registrar and other school officials to ensure accurate reporting of student eligibility.
- Collaborates with other staff members on items related to athletics.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Previous experience working in an athletic department preferred.
- Outstanding organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communications skills both written and oral.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Working knowledge of FHSAA rules and regulations.
- Proficiency with computer network systems and software programs.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with emphasis on meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively with School and Diocesan employees, department heads, representatives of other agencies, and the general public.
- Adherence to the Diocese of Venice Code of Conduct with emphasis on confidentiality
- Undergoing a FDLE Level 2 background check
