This role is out of Provo, Utah.
We are seeking a Jr Production Planner to provide support, leadership and coaching to our Supply chain team. As the Jr Production Planner it is an important role in the planning, organizing, and carrying out of large-scale projects. You will review data and plans to make improvements to the supply chain system. Additionally, you will be aware of stock on hand and actively monitor what is being used and support Production by making sure they have the materials needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with sales, manufacturing, and logistics.
- Collaborates with these departments to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve customer needs.
- Create all Production jobs after customer sales orders are approved.
- Maintain the Open Order report tracking monthly and quarterly revenue
- Run reports of expiry dates and determine disposition to MDA or extend
- Schedule demand based on the product mix and provided accurate lead times to sales department.
- Assemble master schedule reporting regarding performance to the business plan, the shipment plan, the inventory plan, and the production plan.
- Manage load leveling and bottlenecks for more accurate scheduling.
- Establish, measure, monitor and adjust capacity levels to execute all manufacturing schedules.
- Determine available capacity before planned orders are released.
- Collaborates with purchasing to periodically compare current and anticipated orders with available inventory of raw materials; uses judgment to anticipate demand for and communicate additional supplies needed.
- Integrates sales orders with master schedule; coordinates availability of equipment and staff as needed to meet delivery dates.
- Alerts appropriate staff of master schedule changes or delays.
- Participates in periodic forecasting meetings with sales and other related departments; leads additional planning meetings with sales, purchasing, production, and shipping.
- Plans/recommends changes in capacity to hit target levels.
- Sets up and maintains work center and work groups in ERP system.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Competencies/Skill Qualifications:
- Experience managing and improving supply chain data, information, and processes.
- Actively seek to improve all aspects of the supply chain by streamlining steps
- Professional communication skills are essential
- Exceptional ability to conceptualize large-picture projects and foresee challenges and needs to be addressed.
- Top-level understanding of all aspects of supply chain processes
- Previous experience with Planning is essential.
- Experience working in and maintaining databases using Microsoft Excel and others relevant to company processes.
- 3-5 years of experience is preferred.
