TOCCI is looking for people like you to join our team.TOCCI's culture focuses on well-being, helping people feel their best to be their best.We are looking for qualified candidates to join our Planning and Cost Engineering (P CE) group.01 Responsibilities Assume responsibility for assigned estimates and participate in team delivery of group-produced project estimates.Solicit subcontractor and vendor interest and oversee distribution of bid documents and receipt of bid proposals.Evaluate subcontractor bids and assemble complete bid packages.Analyze plans, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost and labor estimates for projects and services.Work with VDC to analyze models (BIM) to extract quantities from digital documents.Learn and utilize On Screen Takeoff (OST), Procore, Microsoft Project and other software.Ensure complete project scope and coverage.Present work product concisely and confidently in various mediums : digitally – using email and links, online in MS Teams or Zoom, and in person.Play a key role in preconstruction assignments by developing project feasibility budgets, progress estimates, value engineering plans, schedules, reports and other functions to meet client goals and provide exemplary preconstruction services.Provide operations support and cost estimating on project change orders.Purchasing Support purchasing efforts of project management staff.Ensure lowest price and highest quality while increasing the subcontractor and vendor responsiveness to TOCCI and P CE needs in general.Business Development Attend and support business development presentations.Prepare and present project facts and figures to win the client trust and selection as their builder.02 Desired Skills Experience The Mid-Level Cost Engineer is based in Woburn, MA with occasional travel to jobsites and partner offices, usually in Greater Boston. The position reports to the Vice President of Planning Cost Engineering. The position requires a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and dedicated individual with an intuitive sense of the constraints and opportunities related to Planning and Estimating.Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field.Four (4) to seven (7) years of relevant experience.Understanding of sitework, foundations, mechanical systems, utility installations and soil remediation.Expertise or willingness to become highly proficient in using MSOffice, OST and Estimating Software, Microsoft Project, and Procore (or equivalent systems).Demonstrated leadership and team skills; ability to provide clear direction and inspire excellent performance.Ability to anticipate consequences and trends, face challenges head-on, and quickly troubleshoot issues.Proven ability to negotiate challenges with internal and external groups.Demonstrated character / integrity and the ability to support the company, its values, and fellow employees while exceeding customer expectations.Good hearing and vision skills. Ability to sit for lengthy periods of time. Ability to use hands and fingers to operate a computer, tablet and telephone devices, and prepare written materials. Ability to withstand occasional occupational risks such as exposure to non-toxic and toxic chemicals used in construction and in an office environment. Ability to withstand exposure to typical office noise.Travel Requirements : 80% office / 20% off site.
