Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled TBM/MTBM Operator to join our team. The operator will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating tunnel boring machines (TBM) or micro-tunnel boring machines (MTBM) to excavate tunnels according to project specifications. This role requires precision, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate TBM or MTBM equipment to excavate tunnels, ensuring alignment with project plans and engineering guidelines.
- Monitor machine performance, including pressure, speed, and alignment, making real-time adjustments as needed.
- Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of the machine to ensure optimal functionality.
- Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and crew members to maintain project timelines and quality standards.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and site-specific procedures to minimize risks.
- Report any operational issues or equipment malfunctions to supervisors promptly.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating TBM or MTBM equipment in underground construction or tunneling projects.
- Strong understanding of tunneling processes, soil conditions, and machine controls.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid operator certification or license (if applicable in your region).
- Physically fit and able to work in confined spaces and challenging environments.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with specific TBM/MTBM models (e.g., Herrenknecht, Robbins, etc.).
- Knowledge of laser guidance systems and automated controls.
