Role Overview:
Combines expertise in instructional design and facilitation to create and deliver engaging learning experiences across multiple platforms. This dual role encompasses both the development of learning materials and direct training delivery. This role combines instructional design expertise with knowledge of the national recovery movement to create engaging professional development programs that advance program participant’s careers and maintain professional standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development:
- Design and develop comprehensive learning programs aligned with industry standards and program participant needs
- Create course content for various delivery methods (in-person, virtual, hybrid, self-paced)
- Develop learning objectives, assessments, and evaluation metrics
- Write clear, engaging instructional materials and course guides
- Design interactive learning activities and practical exercises
- Create supporting materials including handouts, presentations, and job aids
- Maintain curriculum documentation and course catalogs
- Update existing courses based on evaluation data and industry changes
- Ensure courses meet accessibility standards
Facilitation & Delivery:
- Delivers training programs across various platforms (virtual, in-person, hybrid)
- Adapts facilitation techniques to accommodate different learning styles and audience needs
- Manages classroom dynamics and creates an inclusive learning environment
- Provides real-time feedback and coaching during learning sessions
Program Planning:
- Conduct needs assessments to identify learning gaps and opportunities
- Research industry trends and best practices
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop accurate content
- Align curriculum with certification requirements
- Create assessment tools to measure learning outcomes
- Develop program evaluation strategies
- Manages and processes continuing education credits, including documentation verification, participant tracking, and submission of required paperwork to accrediting bodies for workshop attendees
Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of curriculum development experience
- Proficiency with instructional design models and adult learning principles
- Experience adapting curriculum to variety of delivery methods including in person, virtual, and asynchronous.
- Experience with learning management systems
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent writing and editing abilities
- Knowledge of assessment and evaluation methods
Preferred Qualifications?
- Knowledge of the addiction recovery process
- Certified Peer Recovery Specialist or equivalent certification
- Experience with digital learning tools and platforms
- Knowledge of accessibility standards
- Background in competency-based education
- Experience with certification or credentialing programs
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move items up to 25 pounds
- Extended periods of computer work
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for events
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally
