About the Role:
As a Counselor at RICCA, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients through their recovery journey. You will be responsible for the initial intake of clients, providing individual and group therapy, and developing and managing treatment plans. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with clients and their families, coordinate with other service providers, and ensure comprehensive, continuous care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Assessment and Therapy:
- Conduct intake assessments and orientation for new clients.
- Provide individual counseling sessions on an ongoing basis.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions.
- Participate in family therapy when appropriate.
- Treatment Planning and Documentation:
- Develop treatment plans with clear goals and objectives.
- Maintain detailed client documentation, including progress notes and medical information.
- Ensure all documentation meets RICCA’s Quality Assurance standards.
- Coordinate services with other agencies involved in client care.
- Client Support and Referrals:
- Provide effective referrals to meet clients' needs during the program and upon discharge.
- Assist clients in accessing additional support services for long-term recovery.
- Other Duties:
- Perform additional tasks as requested by the Executive Director or Program Director.
Supervision and Professional Development:
You will receive direct supervision from the Outpatient Program Manager / Stutsman Complex Program Manager and guidance from the Executive Director. We strongly encourage and support ongoing training and continuing education to help you excel in your role.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree, completion of Counselor Training, or comparable experience/education.
- State of Illinois Addictions Counselor Certification (required upon completion of required time served).
- Extensive knowledge of addictions, alcoholism, family systems, and counseling.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Computer proficiency.
- Valid driver’s license.
