Job Title: Rice Memorial High School - Finance Manager
Reports To: Rice Principal
Job Summary:The Finance Manager will be responsible for providing financial insights and analysis to support business decision-making. This role involves preparing monthly financial statements, financial analysis, building modeling tools, conducting forecasting, budgeting, and identifying trends to optimize business performance. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of financial data and business operations.
The role includes managing the finance department and collaborating with the finance team at the Roman Catholic Dioceses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Modeling: Create financial models to support decision-making, including pricing models, financial projections, and cost-benefit analyses.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the development and management of financial budgets, continual monitoring of rolling forecasts, and variance analysis conclusions and strategies to comply with budget. Including, a 3-year forecast with changes to grant programs, operational program growth, and other program changes to plan for profitability
- Financial Management: Prepare monthly entries, review financial statements for accuracy, coordinate audits in accordance with Diocesan and educational standards, and report to the management team, the Board, and the Diocese.
- Data Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Provide actionable insights to improve financial performance.
- Cost Control: Monitor and analyze costs to ensure the company is operating within budgetary constraints. Recommend cost-saving measures where necessary.
- Ad-hoc Analysis: Provide ad-hoc financial analysis as required by management, helping to guide strategic decision-making.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with other departments to enhance financial processes and streamline reporting systems.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, food services, company policies, RMHS Transportation LLC and industry standards.
- Management & Training: Manage the finance coordinator and train on new processes for financial efficiency improvements.
- Process Improvements: Review of the current systems and increase efficiencies in the process with new and modern tools.
- Board Reporting: Ability to report information to the board in a non-technical, concise and informative manner to allow for board input and recommendations.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Financial Manager or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CFA, CPA, or other relevant certifications desired but not mandatory.
- Experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a benefit but not mandatory.
