Seasonal Field Technician - Easter Arkansas Offsite

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Trial Management and Observations:
• • Manage trials on a day-to-day level and report back needs to supervisor.
  • Perform daily, detailed notes on various field trials.
  • Provide detailed daily reports to supervisor.
• Travel between off-site locations and provide data:         
• • Travel to multiple locations in a single day.
  • Provide field data while working from a hotel environment.
• Conduct daily field observations and record detailed notes.
• Travel extensively between designated off-site locations.
• Work independently in outdoor conditions, including hot weather.
• Report findings and progress to management on a regular basis.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of all research activities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

The successful candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent. College students welcome to apply.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Detailed: Attentive to detail and possess strong observational skills.
• Self-Driven: Motivated, self-driven and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Working Conditions: Comfortable working long hours outdoors in various working conditions, primarily hot and humid environments.
• Ability to Travel Frequently: Willing and able to undertake frequent travel, including overnight stays, to various locations in Eastern Arkansas.
• Effective Communication: Possess strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey findings, progress and issues to management.
• Agricultural Experience: Has experience from previous roles in agricultural research or similar field

• Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking level and unleveled surfaces for periodic periods throughout the day including flooded rice fields. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. Must be able to lift 50-pound bag of seed. • Work and training locations may include office and warehouse environments.  May also include dry, muddy, or flooded fields, and other outside environmental situations including extreme heat/cold, rainy, or sunny conditions.
