Job description
In keeping with our organization's goal of improving the lives of the Residents we serve, the Human Resources Director manages the day-to-day operations of the HR Department and responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resources function.
Essential Functions
- Checks Applications and references for prospective employees and arrranges interviews as required or directed.
- Maintains job applications for personnel eligible to work in the facility.
- Orients new personnel to the facility and explains personnel policies, procedures, payroll procedures, education , etc
- Communicates changes in personnel policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is followed.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures compliance.
- Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation.
- Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
- Processes payroll on a regular basis and ensures accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Administers worker's compensation program and works closely with workers compensation carrier to ensure claims are processed timely.
- Administers the employee benefits program and assists with annual employee benefits open enrollment process.
- Assists department managers with disciplinary procedures and ensures disciplinary actions are administered fairly and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Establishes, develops, maintains and updates filing system for the Human Resources Department.
- Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, and supply issues to appropriate persons.
- Follow established safety precautions when preforming tasks and using equipment and supplies.
- Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of Residents and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.
- Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with Residents/residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
- Answers and respond to call lights promptly and courteously when working in Resident care areas.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
- Promotes teamwork,mutual respect and effective communication.
- Any and all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Education and Experience
- Preferred experience in a H.R. role, or similar role, preferably in a health care setting.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
