This job is hybrid / 1 day per week remote, 4 in-office at SW Houston location
We are in need of a skilled Sr. Accountant, on a contract / temporary basis, to join our team in Southwest Houston. We are a multi-branch components distributor, and you will be responsible for managing our company's financial records and ensuring their accuracy while also playing a crucial role in supporting the month-end close process. As a contract Sr. Accountant, you'll be working directly with our Controller, and alongside a team of 3 other Senior Accountants on the General Ledger / Financial Reporting team.
Responsibilities :
- Efficiently and accurately process accounting tasks on a daily basis, including the preparation of journal entries and general ledger account reconciliation.
- Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and maintaining the highest level of accuracy.
- Regularly analyze and reconcile financial statements and general ledger accounts to ensure compliance with US GAAP
- Take part in the preparation and review of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Keep fixed asset schedules up-to-date and record depreciation accurately
- Monitor and enhance internal controls to ensure efficient and accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with audit preparations by creating schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
Your proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, and P&L Analysis will ensure your success in this role!
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or in related area with at least 24 credit hours in Accounting, is strictly required
