JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY

This position will plan and implement grant programs from its application to approval and utilization. Perform grant research, grant writing, grant program design, implementation, compliance, and grant reporting. Plays a leadership role while supervising all grant-related processes and working with staff who are involved with the grant. Manage the overall grant efforts, lead the fundraising teams to make the grant process work effectively and efficiently. Identify potential grant support from government agencies, foundations, and corporations to meet the financial and operational needs of the agency. Provide clear communication of proper rules and regulations for approving grants, their specifications, requirements, and objectives across all departments of the organization and the management. Reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Managing and supporting the grants requirement and implementation for the organization.
  • Identify and develop strategies to optimize the grants administration process.
  • Perform relevant research to identify available grant opportunities and evaluate the results.
  • Directly involved in grant writing by coordinating with grant coordinators.
  • Research for effective and authentic funding opportunities having a lawful registration and proven track record.
  • Oversee if the grants are implemented according to the operational and financial needs of the organization.
  • Supervise the fundraising team to ensure proper coordination of work.
  • Keep the relevant staff informed about upcoming deadlines and deliverables, thereby ensuring a smooth completion of work responsibilities.
  • Oversee if another grant staff (coordinators, writers, and administrators) is complying with their job responsibilities.
  • Oversee the job of invoicing, accounting, reporting, and other administrative functions to ensure the successful execution of the grant process.
  • Prepare financial or budget plans and allocation along with the planning and finance department in accordance with each requirement.
  • Analyze the budget trends and make recommendations for cost control and reduction for various grants.
  • Provide detailed reports to the funders and the board of directors with respect to the agency’s progress.
  • Monitor paperwork and other related documents connected with grant-funded programs.
  • Maintain records of all payments and receivables and prepare monthly records for all grant-related activities.
  • Provide training to the new staff on grants management and reporting requirements.
  • Performs other duties as necessary.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in the area of business administration or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in grant management or coordination in Education, NGO, business enterprise, etc. including a leadership role in a business, government

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledgeable of using computers with related knowledge of software programs and the Internet (i.e.. Microsoft Suite)
  • Knowledgeable of basic financial management skills including developing and monitoring budgets and financial reporting.
  • Knowledgeable of planning and strategizing financial and budgeting issues.
  • Skills in project management and supervising administrative projects
  • Skills in analyzing and logically solving problems.
  • Strong skills in written and verbal communication.
  • Skills in organizing and managing grants process and projects must be strong.
  • Ability to understand the agency's overall business and its objectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, activities, and tasks simultaneously, even under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and produce quality results on time with attention to detail.
  • Ability to negotiate services related to grants with vendors.
  • Ability to work within a team and provide support to the junior staff.
  • Ability to perform in a cross-functional team approach and job responsibilities.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.

CERTIFICATION, LICENSE, AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • A Grants Management Certificate is required. Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS) is preferred, but not required.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License to drive an RCRC vehicle and produce an acceptable 10-year driving record.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work is light and requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up-to 10 pounds of force to move objects; work may also require balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, manual dexterity, grasping, handling, perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels, distinguishing among sounds, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, reaching, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity for data/color/observations/equipment, and walking.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is typically performed in a safe and secure work environment that may periodically have unpredicted requirements or demands. Requires working outside normal office hours as needed.
