Job Summary:
Richland R-IV School District is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Assistant High School Boys' Basketball Coach to support the head coach in developing a competitive and disciplined basketball program. The ideal candidate will assist in fostering skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship while positively impacting student-athletes both on and off the court.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the head coach in planning and running practices, game strategies, and player development.
- Provide instruction in fundamental basketball skills, conditioning, and team play.
- Support and mentor student-athletes in their academic and personal growth.
- Help manage game-day operations, including scouting, game planning, and bench management.
- Collaborate with the head coach, athletic department, and school administration.
- Ensure adherence to Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) regulations and district policies.
- Assist in organizing off-season training, conditioning programs, and summer camps.
- Maintain effective communication with players, parents, and school staff.
Qualifications:
- Prior coaching experience preferred (high school level or higher).
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to mentor student-athletes and promote academic achievement.
- Must meet all MSHSAA coaching requirements, including CPR certification and background check.
