Primary Purpose:
Direct the operation of the school library. Partner with the campus Instructional Technology Facilitator to provide services and resources that allow students to develop skills in locating, evaluating, synthesizing, design thinking, and using information to solve problems. Serve as teacher, materials expert, and curriculum adviser to ensure the library is involved in instructional programs of the school.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master’s Degree from accredited college or university
Valid Texas librarian or learning resources specialist certificate or endorsement
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of library and information science
Knowledge of effective design and presentation strategies/skills for all levels of learners
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a campus team
Ability to instruct and manage learner behavior
Experience:
Minimum of three years experience in library in public school setting

Library Program
1. Encourages and supports teachers in reimagining instruction and assessment of student learning.
2. Provides and maintains a space that allows for creative, collaborative, and innovative learning opportunities.
3. Removes barriers to provide equitable, diverse, and inclusive voices in support of the literacy of the school community.
4. Models ethical and legal use of learning resources.
5. Fosters and advocates for a culture of collaboration, innovation, capacity building, and empowerment within the school community.
6. Carries out the mission and vision of the campus, department, and district.
Instructional Partner
7. Models and assists with the integration of varied learning resources.
8. Partners with instructional staff and leads the school community in all areas of digital citizenship; teaches and promotes student data safety and privacy through instruction and role as an educational leader.
9. Guides students and staff in the safe, ethical, legal, and effective use of resources.
10. Collaborates and co-teaches with all grade levels and content areas in a variety of instructional settings.
11. Empowers all members of the learning community to be creators, risk-takers, and comfortable with failure as part of the learning process.
12. Attends and contributes to teacher collaborative team meetings as appropriate.
13. Curates and provides vetted and credible print and digital materials to support district curriculum and classroom instruction.
14. Embeds information literacy instruction in all contents and disciplines.
15. Partners with the Instructional Technology Facilitator to lead, support, and coach the school staff in achieving future-ready instructional goals.

16. Grows capacity in colleagues at the campus levels through professional learning and embedded support.
17. Applies a current understanding of instructional models for adult learners to design and implement professional learning based on campus and district needs.
18. Evaluates the impact of provided professional learning, and continually makes improvements.
Administration
19. Oversees program administration of budget, ordering of instructional materials and supplies, and supervision of paraprofessional and student assistants.
20. Maintains and provides a learning environment that is inclusive for all learners.
21. Maintains synchronous and asynchronous services for 24/7 access to information and resources.
22. Compiles, maintains, and files all reports, records, and other documents required.
23. Complies with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule, and board policy. Complies with all district and campus routines and regulations.
Other Duties
24. Partner with the Instructional Design Facilitator to Manage the Future Ready student leadership program.
25. Direct the work of a paraprofessional aide(s), student aides, and volunteers.
26. Comply with all district policies and participate in campus activities and meetings.
27. Perform all other duties as assigned by campus administration, director of libraries, director of instructional technology, and district administration.
