Position Overview
Gather information. Communicate with supervisors and persons outside the organization. Schedule work and activities. Establish and maintain relationships.

Essential Job Functions
- Analyze technical data, designs, or preliminary specifications
- Bid fabrication or production projects
- Compute cost estimates of projects
- Confer with vendors and sub-contractors
- Convert design specifications to cost estimates
- Estimate costs of materials, labor, production, time, installation and repair
- Identify suppliers
- Interpret maps and blueprints and specifications
- Prepare periodic reports
- Understand technical manuals
- Use computers, other electronic equipment and appropriate software
- Use statistical cost estimation methods

Required Qualifications
- 6-8 years in Estimating (preferred), preferably in fabrication and / or design, with increasing responsibilities.
- Should have knowledge or competencies in fabrication and production; design; mathematics; language; and public safety and security.
- Skills should include effective reading comprehension; critical thinking; coordination and instructing.
- Abilities should include effective oral expression and comprehension; problem solving; reasoning; clarity and recognition of speech, and written comprehension.
- Strong math and Excel skills.
- High School diploma required. Associates degree or higher in construction management or similar field(s) preferred. Prefer experience with business administration, operations management, and business /commerce.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in the field of welding and fabrication would be a plus.
