Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified Manager of Tax to join our Finance organization. Focus of this position will assisting with quarterly and annual consolidated tax provisions, federal and state income tax compliance, estimated tax payments and special projects. In addition to managing our corporate sales and use tax, unclaimed property and personal property tax processes. Will have one direct report staff tax accountant.
Responsibilities
Assistance related to quarterly and annual provisions and income tax compliance :
- Schedules supporting deferred tax balances
- Schedules supporting tax rate computations
- Reconciling taxes payable account
- Tax footnote disclosures
- Calculation of uncertain tax positions
- Preparation of quarterly tax payments and extensions
- State apportionment calculations
- Preparation of federal and state income tax filings
- Preparation of the charitable foundation return
- Maintaining tax depreciation records
- Standalone provisions for our mortgage and insurance subsidiaries
- Aircraft excise tax filings and imputed income calculations
- Responding to notices from federal and state tax jurisdictions
- Addressing follow up items for tax initiatives as provided by internal or outside tax firms
- Forecasting annual effective tax rate
Responsibilities related sales and use tax, unclaimed property and property taxes :
Requirements
Experience : 7 to 10 years of experience in corporate tax or public accounting
Bachelors degree in finance and accounting, experience in tax preparation and compliance or equivalent work experience. Skills and working knowledge with I.R.C. Sec. 263A, 123R, depreciation, I.R.C. sec. 162(m) and tax credits. Excellent time management, organizational skills, communication, decision-making, presentation, human relations. Experience with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of OneSource tax compliance software would be a bonus.
