Job Summary:
This position is responsible for providing quality instruction to students enrolled in the Pharmacy Technician course, equipping them with occupation-specific and employability skills for success in the workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and teach departmental courses, maintain current course syllabi, employ teaching strategies and instructional materials for different learning styles. Stay current in teaching discipline, incorporate student textbook websites as learning tools, and model employability skills and demonstrate professionalism.
Provide daily and ongoing oversight of facilities and equipment, including maintaining classroom, computer lab spaces, and equipment upkeep. Turn in completed monthly class rosters to the Dean's Office in a timely manner for payroll, and maintain student grade reports and progress reports.
Provide an environment conducive to student success by addressing student concerns, assisting students to develop strategies for success, and referring students to campus and community resources. Employ appropriate classroom management strategies and demonstrate the College's employability skills.
Professional Development:
Support program endeavors by attending instructor training meetings, completing required eLearning training online, and scheduling and completing textbook websites instructor training webinars.
Education and Experience:
Required: Associate Degree in Pharmacy Technology or a related field, Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) credential, and North Carolina license as a Pharmacy Technician or ability to attain one prior to hire. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution, Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) credential, and North Carolina license as a Pharmacy Technician or ability to attain one prior to hire.
