What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Address Announcer - Part-time, Paid position at Richmond Kickers Soccer Club?
The Richmond Kickers Soccer Club, an independent USL League One team, and the Richmond Ivy Soccer Club, a pre-professional USL W League team, both located in Richmond, Va., are accepting applications for an enthusiastic, energetic individual to be the Public Address Announcer during all Ivy home games. The Public Address Announcer will be responsible for clearly communicating information, statistics, and promotions during all Ivy home games by following a script, improvising as needed, and using their voice and personality to entertain and energize the crowds during designated times. This individual will also deliver announcements for Richmond Kickers events as requested.

Duties
- Make live announcements before, during, and after games, including player introductions, in-game promotions, and important announcements by reading clearly and enthusiastically from a script produced by the Richmond Ivy staff.
- Communicate cards, goals, substitutions, and other on-field events to the crowd.
- Share important information with the audience, such as game updates, player statistics, and upcoming events.
- Interact with the crowd to build excitement, encourage fan participation, and create a positive and energetic atmosphere.
- Be prepared to make emergency announcements or convey important information in critical situations.
- Maintain a professional and polished on-air presence, positively representing the team and organization.
Must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job:
- Experience announcing in front of a crowd.
- A clear, articulate, and engaging voice suitable for public announcements.
- Ability to follow scripts and make live announcements with accuracy and enthusiasm.
- A good understanding of soccer rules and terminology.
- Adaptability to respond to changes in the game or unforeseen circumstances during live events.
- This role works in close proximity to the Game Presentation Producer to ensure a smooth production is run for the entire match.
- Effective communication skills, an ability to manage multiple tasks while staying organized, is a strong problem solver is detail-oriented, and can excel in a collaborative team environment
- A strong understanding of how public address announcements contribute to the overall fan experience.
- Must have high energy, be enthusiastic, and display positivity around the Richmond Ivy brand
- Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly desired, but not required
- Flexible schedule to allow commitment to all Richmond Ivy home games necessary during the 2025 season, including weekends, evenings, and some holidays to meet game/event needs
- Additional duties, expectations, demands, etc. may be added or changed on an as-needed basis to meet organizational matchday needs.
