The Richmond Middle School (RMS) seeks a dedicated full-time professional to create and oversee a Middle School athletics program and coordinate the existing co-curricular programs. This position will collaborate with the RMS administrative team to build and implement all aspects of multiple sports programs and will coordinate scheduling, purchasing, transportation, hiring, and program development for multiple sports and activities.
The successful candidate will possess high energy, the ability to work with many different stakeholders, and an appreciation for the unique nature of middle school. This position must be able to balance multiple responsibilities and changing priorities while demonstrating strong organization, communication, and time management. At times this position requires evening and weekend commitments.
Richmond Middle School is a part of the Dresden School district and serves as the main feeder for Hanover High School. It serves approximately 360 students from the towns of Hanover, NH and Norwich, VT, forming the first interstate school district in the country.
This is a full-time, school year, salaried position with an excellent benefits package, including health, dental, and retirement plans. The position will start August 25, 2025.

General Purpose:
Responsible for assisting the principal in creating, planning, directing, implementing, and assessing the Athletic and Co-Curricular programs for Richmond Middle School students.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position:
- Assist the Principal in developing the middle school athletic and other co-curricular programs in conjunction with the Superintendent.
- Formulate and recommend policies and procedures relating to co-curricular program structures.
- Assist the principal with developing and implementing an annual budget for proposed athletic and co-curricular programs. .
- Assist the Principal with development and implementation of interscholastic athletic programs, co-curricular & after school programs and other school events as needed.
- Responsible for making necessary decisions related to event status, transportation, officials, and/or issues requiring immediate attention.
- Supervise athletic/co-curricular events in conjunction with the administrative team.
- Responsible for hiring, training, and orientation of coaches, game workers, co-curricular sponsors, and volunteers including policy and protocol review.
- Responsible for evaluation and supervision of coaches, sponsors, and volunteers.
- Assist with monitoring and evaluating participants' academic eligibility criteria.
- Implement, monitor, and assess issues related to the Co-Curricular Code of Conduct.
- Coordinate distribution/collection/maintenance of equipment and uniforms.
- Ensure compliance with all interscholastic athletic regulations.
- Evaluate program modifications necessary to maintain compliance, and facilitate ongoing compliance with directives.
- Act as a representative of the district, while administering interscholastic athletic programs.
- In conjunction with the Principal, ensure that all applicable federal & state laws and mandates relating to athletics are applied and followed, including Title IX.
- Promote athletic and co-curricular events, in printed and electronic formats, for the purpose of fostering enhanced program awareness among students, staff, and the community.
- Responsible for ensuring record keeping requirements are in compliance.
- Including proper documentation of the athletic program, events, participation, and other information required to comply with school policies as well as applicable federal & state laws and regulations.
- Assist with developing and maintaining regulation handbook that governs the athletic and co-curricular programs.
- Any other duties as determined by the Principal and/or district administrator.
- Must comply with all SAU 70 District policy and building / department rules, procedures, practices and objectives.
