Job Summary
Ridg-U-Rak is currently seeking an IT Manager. Ridg-U-Rak is one of the largest pallet rack and storage rack manufacturers in North America. We have three facilities in North East, PA that provide over 400,000 square feet of manufacturing capability and warehousing space.
The IT Manager will drive the technology strategy of the company while working within a budget with the ability to prioritize projects and can ensure that all projects align with the technology that provides maximum return on investment. Manage security of systems, eliminate vulnerabilities to end users by enforcing and implementing MIS policies, and research, analyze, and recommend technology solutions to owners of the company. This position requires to be on call 24/7 to support all operations of the company.
Responsibilities
- Direct daily operations of department, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing policies, procedures, and standards, and setting deadlines.
- Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.
- Develop computer information resources, providing for data security and control, strategic computing, back-up and recovery procedures and disaster recovery.
- Stay abreast of advances in technology.
- Works with other IT staff members to maintain workload balances. Provides back-up support, as necessary.
- Manage, support, schedule priorities and train IT staff members along with ensuring on-going IT skills training for all members.
- Confer with project personnel across multiple departments to identify and resolve technology related problems.
- Research current trends in IT software and hardware and suggest hardware and software purchases and replacements to keep the company competitive in the current business environment.
- Responsible for all software licensing compliance and audits.
- Responsible for all hardware lease agreements and software contracts.
Experience/Requirements
- Five or more years of experience in IT management.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in information technology or computer science.
- Expertise in implementing, configuring, and testing IT solutions.
- Experience managing vendor relationships, soliciting, and evaluating proposals.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in managing and administering a Windows Server domain.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
- Exposure working with Cisco networking equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Experience with IBM Series I (OS is V7R4) preferred.
- Ability to support the efficient operation of our ERP system, MAPICS or similar system.
Salary will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, skills and experience.
