Position Definition:
We are looking for a motivated, self-starting candidate to assist those with intellectual and developmental disabilities in all aspects of employment including development, placement, & follow-along. This position is responsible for identifying community job development opportunities through networking and career exploration; assisting qualifying individuals to obtain and maintain community-based employment; providing individualized situational assessments, on-the- job training, Discovery Program (VR), and continued support services as needed.
Controls over the Position:
The coordinator performs day-to-day duties with a minimum of supervision. Work is reviewed through reports and meetings with supervisor for adherence to goals and objectives, policies and procedures.
Qualifications Required:
1. Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in education, rehabilitative science, business or a related degree, OR
2. Associate Degree or two years of college from an accredited college or university combined with two years of documented direct experience with recipients with developmental disabilities, OR
3. One year of college from an accredited college or university combined with three years of documented direct experience in working with recipients with developmental disabilities, OR
4. High School diploma/GED from an accredited school combined with four years of direct professional experience working with recipients with developmental disabilities may substitute for college on a year for year basis.
5. Must pass level 2 background screening upon employment, as described in Chapter 435, F.S. including local criminal screening, drug testing, and fingerprinting.
6. Must possess clean driving record as supported by a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
7. Must be a legal driver in the State of Florida as supported by providing copies of driver's license, registration and proof of insurance on private vehicle showing evidence of required insurance coverage as expressed by the current Arc insurance carrier.
