What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School & Upper School Substitute Teacher position at Ridgefield Academy?
Ridgefield Academy is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated substitute teachers to join our team on the Ridgefield campus. The Substitute Teacher will work with students in grades 4 through 8 in all subjects on an as needed basis. A successful substitute teacher will build rapport with students, follow designated lesson plans while keeping students engaged and focused on class work and partner closely with other faculty members.
Position Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish clear objectives for all lessons to students
- Share feedback with the Division Head
- Prepare materials and classroom for class activities
- Create an effective environment for learning
- Maintain accurate student attendance records
- Supervise students in out-of-classroom activities during the school day
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
- 2 years of classroom teaching experience
Additional Information:
- Reports to the Head of Middle & Upper School
- Will be called to work as needed, will provide as much advance notice as possible
- $150/day for a full school day
