Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child Mental Health Therapist to join our team as a School-Based Behavioral Health Liaison (SBBHL). This is a year-round position where you will be embedded in Scott County Schools, delivering direct therapy to students and coaching staff on engaging students with behavioral health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the awareness, growth, and psychological development of students through psycho-educational groups and individual support sessions.
- BUILD strong relationships with teachers, parents, and students by being empathetic, caring, and warm.
- Work collaboratively with school officials to develop trauma-informed behavior responses and promote a healthy teaching environment.
- Provide consultation services to teachers to enhance their ability to create positive, trauma-informed classroom environments.
- Participate in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process and assist parents and youth with developing trauma-informed support plans.
Requirements
- A Master's degree in social work, psychology, or counseling.
- Experience working with children and adolescents, especially in a social work or therapy/counseling capacity.
- A strong commitment to providing trauma-informed care and promoting a healthy learning environment.
