What are the responsibilities and job description for the HME Tech I position at RIDGEVIEW MEDICAL CENTER?
Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for the delivery, set-up and maintenance of durable medical equipment and supplies.
Job functions
- Maintains warehouse stock, assuring proper storage of equipment and supplies.
- Maintains equipment repair log.
- Performs shipping and receiving duties.
- Deliver and pick up of equipment and supplies in a timely and professional manner, keeping customer informed of delivery/pick up time.
- Assesses that equipment /supplies are appropriate for the customer's needs and assess the home for any safety issues regarding equipment use and maintenance.
- Cleans, sanitizes, bags and tags equipment for storage.
- Performs routine equipment maintenance.
- Participate in On-call rotation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Work Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old in order to meet Ridgeview's insurability requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of durable medical products, equipment, and services
- Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
- Knowledge of geographic service area
- Ability to relate easily and well with others, projecting a positive and mature attitude to customers
- Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
License /Certification
- Valid MN driver's license and meets Ridgeview's insurability requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous durable medical equipment experience
- Previous experience in warehouse setting
- Ability to effectively manage and prioritize responsibilities
