Sales Representative - Lawn & Garden Stratford

Description

Responsible for assisting customers in the dealership with their equipment questions and identifying solutions to meet their needs.  Primarily focused on (turf) lawn & garden equipment, but also provides support and generates sales for all equipment lines as needed.

Essential Functions:

1. Provides top notch customer service by welcoming customers on the showroom floor, answering general questions, conducting product demonstrations, and providing information. 
2. Generates sales opportunities through following a consistent sales process.
3. Documents significant customer contacts in the company’s CRM system.
4. Quickly follows-up on customer questions and pursues all opportunities through to an outcome.  Documents outcomes in CRM system. 
5. Assures customer receives proper instruction, warranty information, operating manuals and anything else needed upon receipt of their equipment.
6. Posting inventory to online platforms and timely follow up of online leads.
7. Assists customers in the Parts Dept and completes transactions as needed, along with selling Stihl products.
8. Assists outside Equipment Consultants in the internal execution of the sale including, but not limited to, processing related paperwork, updating computer systems, coordinating with other departments the delivery of new and receiving in of traded equipment, demoing equipment to customers, etc. 
9. Acts as an internal store contact for all internal whole goods inventory questions.
10. Acts as store contact for equipment rental, coordinating equipment pick-up and return, donated use of equipment, appropriate documentation and paperwork processing.
11. Overall responsibility for keeping track of whole goods inventory for that location.  Acts as first point of contact for auditor and follows-up on any questions.
12. Updates equipment and other displays in coordination with current marketing promotions.
13. Assures equipment on the showroom floor and yard are maintained in a clean, neat and safe manner.
14. Coordinates pre-delivery of all incoming new whole goods inventory.
15. Maintains work area in a clean, neat and safe manner.
16. Maintains up-to-date product knowledge through attending training, new product intro events, clinics and other learning opportunities.
17. Majority of time worked is inside the dealership, accommodating current store hours.  Works a schedule that is conducive to meeting customer needs which may require some overtime, limited evening/weekend hours, particularly in peak seasons.
18. Represents the Riesterer & Schnell and John Deere brands in a positive, professional manner at all times.
19. Presents a positive, professional image in dress and conduct at all times.
20. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Agri-Business or related field required. 
2. At least one year of sales experience in a related industry required.
3. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
4. Must have a valid driver’s license and insurable driving history.
5. Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with people from all levels of the organization.
6. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills required.
7. Ability to use a computer and current software programs required.
