What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable position at Rifenburg?
The Accounts Payable is responsible for the accurate and timely processing and payment of all vendor invoices for Rifenburg Companies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Enter and code invoices into Vista for assigned companies, check for accuracy and distribute to appropriate reviewer for approval prior to payment.
- Adhere to multi-state sales and use tax guidelines. Provide tax exempt certificates to vendors as applicable.
- Prepare payment reports for review by CFO and process all approved payments
- Complete vendor credit applications and setup new accounts with all vendors
- Resolve vendor discrepancies including review of vendor statements for missing invoices greater than 30 days past due and correcting invoices billed to the wrong company
- Maintain Vendor Compliance records including, but not limited to, W-9, Workers Comp, General Liability and Auto Insurance forms for all vendors, subcontractors and independent truckers. Deducting workers compensation from payments to independent truckers when applicable.
- Maintain accurate filing of all invoices and supporting documentation, for seven years.
- Assist project managers with invoice research and questions.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
High School Diploma is required. College level classes or Associates' degree preferred; or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Strong organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail.
- Computer skills MS Excel and Word software programs; Familiarity with the Viewpoint Vista ERP preferred.
- Efficient verbal and written communication
- Accurate data entry
- Moderate analysis and interpretation required for problem solving
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting within the department as well as across companies
- Independent judgment required using existing guidelines to determine work methods
