Description
The Power Systems Product Support Representative (PSSR) will provide product support and rental solutions for power systems and industrial engine customers. By developing a comprehensive list of products and services, the PSSR is responsible for integrating the parts and service offerings to fit the customer’s needs. This position will be the point of contact for the Power Systems service department regarding equipment maintenance and service support.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Minimum 5 years of service technician experience or 3 years in a similar service sales role working with generator sets, transfer switches, switchgear, and industrial engines.
- Able to travel within assigned territory as required to perform expected responsibilities for the position. Ability to travel overnight as required.
- Proven skills in written and verbal communications, planning, organizing, negotiation, listening, leadership and interpersonal relationship building.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude under adverse conditions.
- Must be a self-starter and ability to work without direct supervision.
- Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office computer products, customer management tools, sales planning tools and/or other comparable systems is required. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel or similar type programs.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with customers and other company personnel.
Requirements
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Promotes and sells product support services and products into assigned territory. Meets sales objectives.
- Contacts prospective and current customers by phone and in person to determine customer needs, present product support information, and explain available services. Provides information brochures and other incentives to inform customers and influence decisions. Builds strong, long term relationships. Interacts with customers professionally at all times. Prioritizes and schedules time with customers in an efficient manner.
- Communicates broad knowledge set of products and offerings and is on the “cutting edge” of new product support offerings for customers.
- Researches and presents the solutions that best meet customers’ needs.
- Performs customer equipment evaluations and provides customer with recommendations.
- Presents and sells customer value agreements (CVA).
- Monitors customer machine components to insure maximum life to include operation monitoring.
- Responsible for renting equipment and services, including power generation, temperature control, and air compressors along with any required ancillary products.
- Achieve rental sales and profit goals, calling on regular and prospective customers, counseling customers on specific equipment solutions, assuring all equipment deliveries meet the conditions of the rental agreement and monitoring customer satisfaction for all products.
- Utilizes company provided software programs to manage all aspects of workload internally and externally, including communicating with customers, managing leads and accounts, scheduling daily appointments and managing assigned territory.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. This position may require long distance car rides depending on customer job site.
