Maintenance Supervisor

Riggs Washington DC sits on the iconic downtown corner of Penn Quarter’s 9th and F Street in a historic building once home to Riggs National Bank. Each of the Hotel’s 181 guest rooms offers a playful nod to the building’s legacy. Riggs is home to the all-occasion European brasserie-inspired restaurant Café Riggs, as well as Silver Lyan – a subterranean bar from the internationally acclaimed Ryan Chetiyawardana, also known as Mr Lyan. Core Essential Functions Coach and counsel maintenance/ engineering team as needed and further develop skillsets. Greet guests in a warm, personable, sincere, and friendly manner. Respond and attend to all maintenance/ engineering requests in a timely manner. Communicate effectively to resolve maintenance/ engineering issues and concerns. Perform preventive maintenance on the hotel’s appliances and operating machines. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Collaborate and communicate with all departments to ensure seamless guest satisfaction. Perform all other duties requested by Area Director of Engineering. This position requires the following knowledge, skills and abilities Must have experience and demonstrate knowledge of all HVAC systems. Must have experience and demonstrate knowledge of electrical systems. Is knowledgeable in plumbing with the ability to soft solder or electrical. Must have experience working with boilers, chillers and cooling towers. Proficient in MS Office is a MUST. Electrical / HVAC Background with Hands-on Building Trade Experience Preferred. A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience or 7 years of combined engineering/trade experience. Previous experience leading a team of engineers is required. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Flexible schedule is required to meet the needs of the business.
