As an Assistant Project Manager, you will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure overall accountability for safety, schedule, cost, quality, and project performance. The goal of this position is to develop the skills and experience necessary for your career path to becoming a Project Manager. This position will be based out of our Rocky Hill, CT office to support our NE Transmission, Drilling, and Matting group.

Responsibilities
- Review the project scope and quote with the Project Manager to fully understand outcome goals
- Source materials through key suppliers to ensure the highest quality product that aligns with the budget
- Handle day-to-day project tasks, ensuring customer specifications, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met
- Perform site visits, including audits, review of safety procedures, customer meetings, and process updates to manage and meet customer and project budget expectations
- Provide progress reports, cost-to-complete, and other weekly and/or month-end supporting documentation to the manager to ensure specifications and expenses fall within prescribed guidelines
- Administer high-quality, timely, and excellent customer service to promote the organization as an industry leader
- Coordinate with internal groups on organizational projects as needed for the betterment of the entire company
- Analyze labor and equipment production and optimize ongoing performance
- Prepare a budget/cost control tracking system with all associated maintenance and forecasting
- Perform safety audits and ensure that safety standards and procedures are met and followed
Education, Skills, Experience Needed:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Construction Management, Electrical or Civil Engineering or similar fields
- Entry Level or Junior Level, 0-2 years of related project management experience in construction, electrical, or similar utility industries preferred; willing to train a strong recent college graduate
- Proficient computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed in a company vehicle
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate information in a clear, concise, and professional manner. Team player who displays leadership and diplomacy
- Ability to adapt to changing business requirements with minimal advanced notice
- Self-directed, organized, and motivated to accomplish goals. Ensure that project correspondence and records (paper & electronic) are properly managed and maintained
- Strong customer focus; able to handle multiple projects and work outside comfort zone to learn and grow; highly reliable; able to work through conflict
- Collaborative, flexible, and adaptable to change; supportive of a team. Willing to learn and grow in the role
