What are the responsibilities and job description for the Culinary Banquet Supervisor position at Riggs Washington DC?
Riggs Washington DC sits on the iconic downtown corner of Penn Quarter's 9th and F Street in a historic building once home to Riggs National Bank. Each of the Hotel's 181 guest rooms offers a playful nod to the building's legacy. Riggs is home to the all-occasion European brasserie-inspired restaurant Café Riggs, as well as Silver Lyan - a subterranean bar from the internationally acclaimed Ryan Chetiyawardana, also known as Mr Lyan.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well in environment with time constraints.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills, performing work accurately and efficiently.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Able to work all Stations within the kitchen, once trained on the expectation.
- Ability to plan daily production of all products needed for the operation.
- Work closely with Sous chef and follow instructions given based on business needs.
- Ability to open and close shifts, checkout line staff and update production needs.
- Ability to develop, implement and maintain systems for all kitchen and culinary staff.
- Ability to effectively train and develop staff and build team morale.
- Demonstrate hands on leadership skills to clearly communicate to the line staff daily responsibility.
- Ability to work flexible schedule to accommodate business levels.
- Work with Sous Chef in developing and training their direct reports.
- Work with chef de cuisine to instill company culture, build morale and create an ongoing positive work environment, using established as well as newly developed initiatives.
- Work with direct reports to ensure reusable leftover food is being held properly at events and that a system is developed and maintained for food returned to the premises from events.
- Monitor hourly staff in/out times daily to ensure that labor budget is being met.
Pay Range: Hourly $23- $24
