About You
You love the art of storytelling and have a gift for crafting compelling narratives and weaving together visuals, sound, and editing to connect with people and inspire them in an authentic way. You enjoy creating longer-form videos such as documentaries, explainers, how-tos, and other informational / educational content. You also know how to build excitement and get attention through engaging short-form video content that stays true to a brand’s identity through interview clips, reviews, or behind-the-scenes previews.
You enjoy creating down-to-earth, authentic video content that is high-quality and relatable rather than being highly-commercialized content. You’re talented in filming and editing and you have 3-7 years experience honing your craft professionally, and it’s time for a new challenge! You find the idea of being in-house video production to be exciting, and may have a more diverse, extensive background to draw from and bring to this role.
You want to get in with a company and use your talents to help build a brand through video and photography content and contribute significantly to a company’s strategic branding direction alongside an ambitious team that is hungry, and poised, for continuous growth. You’d like the opportunity to be very hands-on in strategy and execution and make a big impact through your work. You’re down to get in and win it with the team!
About Us
Right Rope is a fast-growing, eCommerce, direct-to-consumer online rope retailer and soon-to-be manufacturer. Opening up manufacturing creates even more opportunity for interesting content, including capturing rope-strength break-testing on our new break-testing machine!
We are reimagining the marketing and branding of rope – an old school tool that is actually an integral part of so many applications. However, you really don’t think about rope until you need some. Think of DIY fences, rope railings for docks and decks, boating rope, dock lines, anchor lines, skiing, tree climbing, rock climbing, construction, tree-rigging, and more! The creative content and market positioning is endless and the diversity of uses makes it ripe for video storytelling.
We also want to brand ourselves as the clear rope authority online so our content represents our expert knowledge and desire to help people find the right rope for their needs. Everyone and every project is unique and we want people to feel connected to us through our content as if they were receiving personalized support in finding just the right rope for what they’re doing. We want to connect to a customer’s vision and translate that to a confident purchase decision of the right rope through our user-friendly, informational videos and imagery as they interact with our platforms.
We currently have a lot of educational content available for our customers, but we are entering a new phase where we want to increase this content and elevate our brand identity, including using video to enhance our talent attraction model – which is the driver for creating this new position. We are looking for the right person to partner with us on this exciting, two-fold mission!
