What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Preschool Teacher position at Right Start Academic Preschool?
Right Start Kids Academy is located inside Black Diamond Gymnastics, where we specialize in fun with a purpose! We are currently looking to invite a Preschool Teacher's Assistant to our Park City community of collaborative, fun, dedicated individuals whose passion is the many children that we guide, teach, and protect each day.
We are looking for an amazing team member who enjoys children and being a positive presence in their day! The best candidate is punctual, dependable, and has a passion for working with preschool aged children. We are a team and enjoy that each staff member brings positivity and encouragement into the work environment. Work schedule is Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30am – 12:45pm. We run on a school calendar. Our year is from August-May with opportunities to work in the summer with our camps if interested.
The ideal candidate is someone who has a sincere love for children, teaching, and is a lot of fun. Teachers and Teacher assistants are always actively engaged with the children. We want a teacher that will be sweet, loving, fun, happy, and excited to contribute to the educational and social growth of the children in our care. We believe that children need consistent positive attention and expect teachers to exhibit this trait in the classroom as well. We enjoy a positive work environment and expect employees to work well and maturely with others. We are looking for an individual that is committed to helping grow our program and stay with us year after year.
Responsibilities
- Actively engaging with children aged 2 to 3 (occasionally 3 to 5 years old)
- Assisting the Lead Teacher in daily activities such as story time, music, art, science, circle time, and lunch
- Doing routine diaper checks and changing diapers
- Helping potty train children
- Assisting Lead Teacher by gather supplies, helping complete projects, and whatever else the teacher may ask
- Resolving conflicts between children in a respectful safe way
- Creating a safe and fun environment for all children of all development levels
- Attending routine yearly training
- Following all guidelines set by the state licensure
Qualifications
- At least one year of childcare (preferred)
- Ability to pass a federal background check (required)
- First-aid and CPR certified (preferred)
- Enjoy helping the Tiny Humans learn how to navigate our big world (required)
