What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Center Construction Technician (White Space) position at Rightech?
RIGHTECH is a leading nationwide provider of technical staffing services. WE are currently working with a national integrator who specializes in data center installation and giber optic services. They are looking to add five data center technicians to their team. These are full-time roles working varied shifts in white space data center environments.
You will be working in construction environments building the infrastructure for a data center. This company allows for professional growth and career development.
INSIDE PLANT (ISP) CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN :
The primary responsibility of the ISP Construction Technician is to support the installation of infrastructure and cabling materials related to Telecom builds in white space environments.
These include, but are not limited to, racks, cabinets, cage walls, hot / cold isle containment, grounding, fiber guide, Unistrut, ladder rack, basket tray and structured cabling.
ISP Technicians must also maintain a safe and controlled environment during said activities and in various assigned work sites.
Reading and comprehension of engineered diagrams / drawings as well as recording and maintaining accurate field notes are essential skills.
Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be required and / or assigned.
Responsibilities :
- Arrives on time and prepared to work daily with required tools and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
- Demonstrates an understanding of productivity and readily adapts to team suggestions to maximize accomplishments under time restrictions
- Comfortable working around other trades and helping to create a work environment that is mutually productive
- Respect for and compliance with all safety and security protocols related to industry and site-specific access in campus and data center environments
- Takes the initiative to keep work sites clean and organized throughout the workday
- Reading comprehension and adherence to written scopes of work and supporting documentation including engineered drawings, patching matrices and a Bill of Material (BOM)
- Team player that coordinates and communicates activities with other employees, departments, and management
Competencies / Skills :
Education Level : High School / GED
Experience :
1-3 years of relevant job experience.
Relevant job experience is described as job experience in a similar industry or job experience with similar essential duties
Required PPE : Hard Hat, Safety Vest, Composite Boots, Safety Glasses, Work Gloves
Required Tools : Basic Hand Tools : screwdriver (multi-Bit), tape measure, snips, pliers (needle nose and channel locks), cable stripper, punch down tool, flashlight
