What are the responsibilities and job description for the Release of Information Specialist position at RightStone?
We are looking for dedicated Release of Information Specialist to join our team in Jacksonville, FL with $16.50/hr pay for a 5-month contract, potential temp to perm. In this role, you will play a vital part in releasing of information requests efficiently, ensuring compliance with company policies and HIPAA guidelines. High school diploma or GED required, with 1–3 years of experience in customer service, records management, or healthcare; R.H.I.T. certification is a plus. – APPLY NOW!
Shift Schedule: 8:00AM - 6:30PM (5 days a week including 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks.)
Duration: 5-month contract, potential temp to perm
Roles and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required; associate’s degree preferred. R.H.I.T. desired.
- 1-3 years of customer service, records management, or healthcare experience required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information; knowledge of HIPAA preferred.
- Proficient with computer programs and data entry.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and multitasking skills.
- Solid oral and written communication skills.
- Can work from 08:00:AM - 06:00:PM
Essential Functions:
- Process release of information requests efficiently, ensuring compliance with company policies and HIPAA guidelines.
- Reproduce requested information according to Service Level Agreement (SLA) and legal requirements (e.g., subpoena), using methods like fax, scan, or photocopy.
- Identify request status (walk-in, fax, pre-payment) and enter data into tracking system.
- Verify accuracy and quality of reproduced work and data entry before providing to requestor, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.
- Generate cover letters, pre-payment notices, invoices, and mail information; process payments upon receipt.
- Use various computer systems to maintain procedural consistency.
- Perform other assigned duties.
