ASL COMMUNICATIONS DSP: This is an opportunity to make a really big impact on the deaf community in specializing in a variety of client cares while learning their view of the world thru American Sign Language. This is a group home setting with 4 adults where each resident hoping to one day learn skills to live on their own. Your role would be a DSP. A direct support professional (DSP) cares for people with disabilities, and encourage them to lead independent lives through language and routine. We will train in both Asl and job duties.
To be successful in this role you need to be mindful of resident’s disabilities in an empathetic manner, yet care for them in a way that encourages their independence and inclusion in the community.

- Direct Support Professional Responsibilities:
- Establishing a secure, positive environment that nurtures residents' needs, self-expression, and goals.
- Overseeing residents and taking care of their needs, and performing housekeeping duties.
- Advancing residents’ decision-making, productivity, and participation in a range of activities.
- Promoting independence in daily activities, such as work, learning, and leisure.
- Maintaining knowledge of residents’ requirements.
- Complying with the facility’s policies and procedures.
- Maintaining documentation in compliance with company procedures.
- Medication Administration. We will train
- Willing to learn ASL - American Sign Language

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
