Position Summary: The Accounting Assistant for Rihm Family Companies (RFC) can expect to assist the accounting department with accounts payable data entry and processing, accounts receivable collections, merchant credit card transaction reconciliation, and to serve as the backup for accounting department clerical roles. The primary duty is to support the accounting department with their day-to-day functions.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

• Monitors past due customer receivable accounts, research and documents account discrepancies and performs tasks to secure payment.
• Verifies purchase orders, codes, and enters invoices for payment into CDK.
• Sorts, organizes, and submits invoices for payment.
• Reconciles and enters account balances, expense reports and related journal entries.
• Assists in the reconciliation of the merchant credit card payment transactions.
• Assists in cash application of customer payments.
  
  
  

Education & Essential Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or similar field.
• 3 years of relevant, hands-on accounting experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently on assigned duties.
• Demonstrates an ability to manage a variety of priorities while meeting deadlines.
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Truck or automotive industry background.
• Experience with CDK Global software.
