Technical Pattern Editor
Independent Contractor Position
Full-Time
We are looking for an enthusiastic Technical Quilt Pattern Editor to join the Pattern Department team at Riley Blake Designs. The successful candidate will edit a variety of quilt patterns and assets and work directly under our Pattern Manager to ensure all RBD patterns are technically edited for quilt math, fabric requirements, consistency and ease of use. Patterns include but are not limited to, Boxed kits, paid patterns, BOM programs, designer patterns, notion patterns, panel patterns and free patterns. Candidates should be well-versed in a wide variety of quilting, sewing and piecing techniques. Experience working on multiple technical edits and projects with various deadlines and timelines is imperative.
Responsibilities
- Report directly to RBD Pattern Manger
- Communicate technical edits with writers and graphic designers in a clear and effective manner
- Technically edit patterns for math, fabric requirements, spelling and grammar and pattern illustrations and formatting
- Verify fabric requirements and SKUs for accuracy
