Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. Hours are Tuesday-Friday from 12-7. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing support in a kennel environment. This role involves ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and well-being of the animals in our care while assisting with various tasks related to pet handling and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets.
- Supervising dogs in the play yards, making sure everyone is getting along.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas by performing regular cleaning duties.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to management.
- Assist with customer service by greeting clients and providing information about services offered.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed to maintain a safe environment for both animals and staff.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kennel is preferred but not required.
- Strong animal handling skills with an understanding of pet behavior.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Knowledge of pet grooming techniques is beneficial but not mandatory.
