Summary
A General Contractor specializing in commercial construction is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee projects related to retail buildings and large grocery stores. We are seeking a candidate with 5 years of relevant experience who is based locally in Utah.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of commercial construction projects, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Oversee all aspects of construction, including resource management, subcontractor coordination, and adherence to plans and specifications.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely progression and completion.
- Control project costs, including procurement of tools, materials, and labor resources.
- Facilitate communication and updates with stakeholders, including owners, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, and internal teams.
- Inspect the job site regularly to ensure standards of safety, quality, and productivity are maintained.
- Maintain accurate and professional documentation, including schedules, work orders, RFIs, meeting minutes, purchase orders, back charges, and safety reports.
- Lead and direct job site personnel, ensuring effective performance and adherence to project standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying and addressing errors, recommending procedural improvements, and demonstrating initiative to acquire new skills.
Qualifications

Experience:
- 5-10 years of experience as a Superintendent, specifically in retail and grocery store construction projects (ground-up). Majority of what this builder does is New Construction projects.

Education:
- High school diploma or GED required

Skills:
- Demonstrated leadership and delegation abilities.
- Software knowledge of Procore, Bluebeam, or MS Project, etc.
- Strong knowledge of building processes, methods, and subcontractor scopes of work.
- Proficiency in construction software and personal computer applications.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and initiative.
