Position Summary
As the Lead Estimator, you’ll work closely with project managers, suppliers, and trade partners to produce precise cost estimates and support preconstruction planning. You’ll be involved in every step of the estimating process, including scope reviews, job walks, and cost evaluations. The position requires strong analytical thinking, a deep understanding of construction methods, and a results-driven mindset.
Key Responsibilities

Review project documents, blueprints, and specifications to develop cost breakdowns

Generate quantity takeoffs and pricing for labor, materials, and equipment

Lead early budget estimates and refine them as plans evolve

Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to gather competitive pricing

Evaluate site conditions through pre-bid walks and incorporate findings into estimates

Support value engineering efforts and identify cost-saving alternatives

Assist with bid reviews, scope alignment, and bid leveling

Maintain detailed records of estimates, assumptions, and pricing data

Participate in internal strategy meetings and client discussions as needed

Help assemble GMP and project documentation in support of preconstruction
Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of experience in estimating, project engineering, or project management

Experience working on commercial interiors, tenant improvement, or shell construction projects

Strong knowledge of current construction practices and building materials

Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications

Familiar with industry tools such as Bluebeam, Building Connected, and ProEst

Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
-
Detail-oriented with strong time management and multitasking abilities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Must have a valid California driver’s license
