Position Summary
The Senior Accountant will be a key player in our accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing accounts payable/receivable, and maintaining general ledgers. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional who understands debits, credits, P&Ls, and the complexities of construction accounting, including AIA billing.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in debits, credits, and reconciliations.
- Manage AIA billing, accounts payable, and receivables.
- Maintain and analyze P&Ls, general ledgers, and financial statements across six bank accounts.
- Assist with job cost tracking for 45 active projects.
- Utilize accounting software (Sage, CR 300) for financial reporting and record-keeping.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Work closely with the Controller, CFO, and accounting team (Accounting Manager, Project Accountants, AP, Payroll, and HR).
- Develop and improve financial processes to optimize efficiency.
- Leverage Excel for financial modeling, reporting, and data analysis.
Qualifications
- CPA and/or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including debits and credits.
- Proficiency in Sage and CR 300.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
- Ability to manage multiple projects, bank accounts, and financial statements.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
