What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agriculture and Business Law Associate Attorney position at Rincker Law, PLLC?
Seeking full or part-time associate attorney knowledgeable with food and agriculture law and business law to be based from either the Champaign or Shelbyville Office. Open to hybrid or fully remote for the right candidate. The right candidate is high-motivated, detail oriented, hard working and self sufficient.
We are a technology heavy law firm using software to help increase efficiencies and customer service to clients. Looking for a candidate who has the ability to learn and be proficient in a robust tech stack including Microsoft 365, Cosmolex, NetDocuments, Lawmatics, Asana, DropboxSign, and Wealth Counsel.
This candidate will assist with food and agriculture clients with various segments of the food, fiber and agriculture industries but primarily farmers and ranchers in a myriad of practice areas including:
1) estate, business and succession planning for multi-generational family farms;
2) renewable energy leases (e.g., wind and solar leases);
3) property law issues (e.g., boundary line disputes);
4) contracts (e.g., farm leases);
5) commercial real estate transactions concerning farmland);
6) direct farm marketing issues (e.g. farmers markets, Community Supported Agriculture, farmstands); and,
7) food labeling issues.
This position will also assist with business law matters including business purchases, contract drafting, buy-sell agreements, business formations, drafting Terms of Service and helping manage trademarks.
Ideally, this candidate will live in Central Illinois and will have the ability to have work in person or hybrid at either Shelbyville or Champaign office. However, Rincker Law is a nationally recognized food and agriculture law firm with clients and offices in other jurisdictions including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Kentucky, Texas and Washington D.C. With the use of technology, this position can be fully remote but only for the right candidate.

We pay hourly vs. salary. We offer health insurance with Health Alliance after 90 days (we pay for 75%) and matching 401K benefits after 6 months. Paid court holidays (using the Shelby County, IL courthouse as the calendar) after 6 months and additional weeks vacation are available after 1 year with a crescendo based on the years with the company.
Pay is commensurate on experience.
